Blean Wood & The Dolphin

Sunday. Beautiful weather again, and the clocks have gone forward to British Summer Time, so the house remained still for a bit longer this morning. Our little walking group, the Steely-Eyed Ninja Speed Walkers, has its first outing of the year; a short and easy route around Blean Woods, just to check our legs are still working after the winter hiatus. Bento came along and was an instant hit with the gang — his unmistakable joy when I let him off the lead to run in the woods was infectious. Such a good boy!

After the walk, we all went for Sunday lunch at The Dolphin, a lovely, dog-friendly pub in the city centre. I had a trio of roasts, and they even brought Bento a water bowl and a little plate of dog treats. A perfect start to the day — thanks to Tamara, Charlotte, Caroline and Tamara for coming along. After that, just a nice, peaceful afternoon, and a second roast for supper. Gabriel arrived home for the Easter holidays. He caught the train down from Manchester, and I picked him up from Canterbury West at seven.
