Bridge Over the River Stour
Monday. Hot and muggy, but with a lot of clouds. Traffic into Canterbury was particularly dire this morning—it turns out the demons in charge of local roadworks are planning a delightful summer of jolly japes. I had a long shift supervising, but it was pretty straightforward and good-humoured, and even the lunchtime meetings were okay. I escaped around five, but the roads were gridlocked, so I took the long way home. This did have the advantage of taking me through beautiful countryside bathed in late afternoon sunshine. I stopped in Preston to grab a few pictures along the way.
