Eye Light
Friday. A lovely fine day, hot and sunny. We had a nice, smooth school run — Dash and I were discussing ideas for his EPQ, an Extended Project Qualification that counts as about half an A-level; he’s thinking of covering the history of AI, going back to Turing in the 1950s and Weizenbaum’s ELIZA program of the 1960s, then following development up to the modern-day generative AI revolution. It’s an interesting topic that has always fascinated me too, so we had a lot to talk about.
My morning at work was very busy and rolled straight into the afternoon session. Luckily, it calmed right down after lunch, and I was able to catch up and get away at a civilised hour. Milo got home from London around nine-thirty. A peaceful evening at home, with Pork teriyaki stir-fry for supper, and a happy evening in GW2 with my guildies.
