Eye of the Queen

Tuesday. A wet and windy start to the morning, but it brightened up a bit by lunchtime. I just had a morning shift in the office today—very straightforward, and I was away by half past twelve. Unfortunately, they’re replacing traffic lights on the primary ring route around the city centre—so Canterbury was gridlocked when I left work. In the end, I drove out of town in the opposite direction, a long diversion via Fordwich, Patrixbourne and Bridge, before rejoining the A2 towards Dover. It’s a much longer route, but I got home well before two, and avoided sitting in traffic, so I’ll count that as a win.

It’s so dark and gloomy outside that photographic inspiration was in short supply today. Back at my desk, I played around with a new toy; the Apexel PhoneMicro 5 Series kit—a mount and three microscopy lenses for the iPhone, with 100x, 150x and 200x magnification and built-in LED illumination. This image is a close-up of the Queen’s face on a £10 note.
