Great Expectations

Monday. Looks like the Spring memo finally arrived—it’s been a beautiful sunny day, with clear blue skies and a touch of warmth to the air. The school run this morning was less positive; for some reason, the traffic in Canterbury was utterly buggered. I never did find out if it was an accident or roadworks, but the tailback extended over a mile, barely moving, all the way out to the A2 sliproad. I’m on annual leave this week, so I was able to drop Dash, turn round and come straight back out again… mercifully, a much quicker process. Apart from all that, it’s been a very mellow day: I got out for a short walk along the lane, and a bit of gaming later in the morning. Monty’s working, and Ken is sorting out some of the paperwork for their future travels. Raff’s at uni today, preparing for a big presentation. Chicken soup for supper, and in the evening, I watched A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which was excellent, and so short that George R. R. Martin et al might even finish it.
