Milo’s New Car
Saturday. I woke outside, around three-thirty, to the sound of thunder directly overhead. Heavy rain followed only seconds later, and I rushed to get the patio cushions inside as if my life depended on it. Which, on reflection, it probably did. The storms brought welcome relief from the sticky heat, and the rest of the day looked like it might be a bit cooler.
A very busy morning: Vanessa was off to work in Folkestone, and after many good-byes, Milo and I dropped Monty at Dover Priory Station just before eight. He’s taking the train to Gatwick, then at 13:05, a Norse Atlantic flight to JFK. After that, he’ll get another flight to LAX to meet Kenadee and her dad. Milo and I drove on to South London to go car shopping. Milo’s old car is on its last legs, so today he bought a lovely black 2019 BMW 118i from K Motors in West Malden. We had a great road trip on the way — Milo even bought me breakfast! The rain had cleared by mid-morning, and the heat returned with a vengeance - it was 30°C as I drove home from London. Gubs and Dash were suitably impressed with their big brother’s new acquisition and went for a quick test drive.
By contrast, the afternoon was incredibly chilled, and masterful indolence reigned supreme. For me, a short nap, and some very relaxed writing and photo-editing were in order. In the evening, having attained peak CBA-mode, we grabbed a Papa Johns pizza for supper.
