Friday rolls around again! The week feels like it has flown by. Clear blue skies and sun from the start. A long and busy morning at work, but luckily a much quieter afternoon. Also, it’s Friday…
I picked up a straggler on the way home. Dash was walking from his school to the bus stop, along Appledown Way, so I was able to give him an unexpected lift. In Raff’s dining emporium this evening: Basa À La Meunière.
À la meunière is a classic French cooking term that literally means “in the style of the miller’s wife.” Traditionally, it refers to a simple but elegant way of preparing fish: the fish is lightly dredged in flour (hence the miller’s connection), then pan-fried in butter until golden. It is usually finished with a sauce of browned butter, lemon juice, and parsley.
