Red Leaf Raindrops

Monday. Murky, grey and wet in the morning. For most of our family, it’s back to the usual routine this week. Vanessa and Milo were out early to work, and I took Dash to school for his GCSE Biology paper. Raff’s on his long summer break from university, and Monty is wrapping up his work-from-home job with Atkins — in two weeks, he’s departing for America to see Kenadee, and effectively leaving home for good. After a short visit to the States, he’s going to start a year of travelling while he waits for his Green Card application to go through. Gabriel’s still up in Manchester, but he’ll be home for the summer a little later this month. I’m on a week of annual leave now, which is awesome. The break is very much needed, and I’m planning to fill it with all the usual fun things: walking, photography and gaming. I am, if nothing else, a creature of habit.

In the late afternoon, we had about an hour of torrential rain, followed by bursts of bright sunshine. Moments of amazing light, albeit fleeting, and I was able to grab my camera and rush outside to find a few photographs in need of taking.
