The Full Monty

It was a very mellow Sunday, perfect for Mother’s Day. Last night, we had the amusing spectacle of several of our grown-up offspring mysteriously deciding to pop out for a late evening drive for… reasons. Witnessing my sons embracing the ancient manly tradition of last-minute panic gift shopping was a proud dad moment. Brought a tear to the eye of this grumpy old sod, anyway.

The beautiful spring weather continues, and it was lovely to have our whole family together now that Monty has returned for the holidays. There’s been plenty of grazing and chatting in the kitchen, a lot of flower arranging for Vanessa, and roast chicken cooking for me. I took today’s photo on the spur of the moment. Monty was trying on a jacket that Gabriel decided he no longer wanted. He kindly held the pose for a few seconds, long enough for me to get the shot.
