Wanderers’ Return

Monday. It’s a hot, clear, sunny day, with blue skies and temperatures up in the high twenties again. Perfect weather for the wanderers’ return from Menorca. My little gang had an early flight, arrived at Gatwick around 11:30, and got back to the house in the early afternoon. Unpacking, tidying, cooking and stories followed in quick succession. Raff’s Bistro is open again, and tonight’s special is: Honey Hoisin Pork Noodles with Smashed Sesame Cucumber.

For today’s photo I decided to take a different approach—keeping the idea of using a captured Flightradar image to represent the journey home, but aiming for an ethereal and far more abstract result. The plane becomes a pale silhouette and the swirling shapes above it are derived from the outline of the Menorcan coastline on the ascent just after takeoff.
