Grandad’s Den

Sutton, Surrey, June 2010

The boys love listening to Grandad’s stories. Ed is a remarkable man who has travelled extensively in his life, has played professionally in a rock band for the last forty years – and is still doing gigs at nearly eighty! His den is a wonderland full of interesting treasures from his travels, including a pedal steel and numerous guitars. In this image, Raffy is playing with a Fender Strat and Ed is enjoying rapt attention from the other boys as he describes how tribal hunters would tip the arrows he is showing them with curare to kill their prey.
