Warrior's Gaze

Canterbury, June 2017

It’s a busy day today, not to mention Raffy’s birthday. We are having a little garden party to celebrate, with a barbecue (obviously), and afterwards, I got the fire pit going for marshmallows and general hanging out in the garden till late in the evening. The fire pit was full of ash that needed to be scooped out, and in the process, Milo and Dash used it to daub themselves with warpaint. This looked really quite striking on Milo, so I persuaded him to stop for a couple of photographs - and this is one of my favourite portraits I have of him. This also works well as a square cropped image, but I prefer the widescreen format here with the negative space to the left of the frame.
