Oare Creek

My week off is ending, and Vanessa very kindly sacrificed her morning run to let me drive off to Faversham to take pictures - at this time of year, the best of the morning light is usually over by 8 am. I was keen to visit Oare Creek, near Faversham, a navigable tidal creek south of The Swale at Harty Ferry, which meanders across the North Kent Marshes. The creek provides a route to the Thames Estuary, and this natural port was the basis of the original prehistoric settlement here, which grew into the current town. It's a beautiful place for wildlife watching, and with the jetties and boats, there are rich pickings for photographers.
