To Boldly Go

After a successful photographic trip to Oare Creek yesterday, we took the boys there this morning for a run-around. It worked out well—there was plenty for them to see and explore, although next time, we must remember old clothes—they did get rather muddy!

Oare Creek is a picturesque tidal inlet that winds through the marshlands near the historic town of Faversham in Kent, England.  This tranquil waterway separates the quaint village of Oare from Faversham, creating a serene and secluded atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era.

Once a bustling hub for sailing barges bound for London, Oare Creek now serves as a tranquil haven for boaters, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life.  Its gently meandering course is flanked by verdant marshes and mudflats, providing a rich habitat for a diverse array of birdlife, including migratory species that find refuge in the nearby Oare Marshes Nature Reserve.

Visitors to Oare Creek can explore its scenic beauty by embarking on leisurely walks along the creek's banks or by taking to the water in kayaks or small boats.  The creek's calm waters offer a serene setting for paddling, fishing, or simply soaking in the peaceful ambience. Boating enthusiasts can rest assured, as they can find comprehensive services and moorings at the nearby Iron Wharf Boatyard and Young Boats, located along the creek's shores.
