Snoozing Baby Cat
The boys are back at school, so this morning I was at a loose end. I drove to Seasalter, a little coastal village near Whitstable, to find new locations. The light wasn't ideal for shooting, but I plan to come back another time. Today, I thought I would experiment a little. I've just picked up a new Google Nexus 7 tablet, which has a 5MP camera on the back. Tablet cameras are notoriously not great, but I thought it might be interesting to try a few shots and see what I could make of them with some good software. I caught a shot of a cyclist on the beach with an old wooden groyne in the foreground. The output from the camera is not brilliant but stops just short of dreadful, and by adopting a slightly grungy retro approach, it was possible to make the best of it.
But you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear, and on reflection, that picture really was pretty crap. I noticed I had also taken this lovely picture of a baby cat later in the day. So, after all that morning palaver, the moggy picture wins hands down.
