Afterburn
Bank Holiday Monday — and it’s going to be another hot pre-summer day. I was up and about early, enjoying the cool, fresh morning air. After the last few days of longer walks and pushing the pace, my muscles are insisting on a rest day, so I pottered around in the garden and found my daily photo before 9 am. Last night we had another barbecue, and later the boys lit the patio tabletop fire to make S’mores while chatting on FaceTime with our missing American. It was mid-afternoon and 35°C in Arizona, but it was lovely for Kenadee to join in the fun. This morning, I saw something photogenic in the bluish reflections and the rusted metal of the burner: a couple of marshmallow-toasting sticks nestling amongst the fire glass in the background. I used my Ricoh GR III for this image, which required a natural wide-aperture blur to work.
