Aujourd’hui Le Déluge
Tuesday. A complete change in the weather: heavy rain from the start, which persisted through the morning before clearing up a little around noon. Dash has a Physics GCSE paper today — Vanessa took him to school, and I picked him up at eleven. No work for me, thank heavens, after yesterday’s marathon meeting. Ed’s going to the estate agent’s in person this morning to make an offer on that bungalow; old-school, but smart. I got out for an early walk despite the rain, through Whitfield village, then out along Sandwich Road and Forge Lane, before following the trails through Singledge Wood and Captain’s Wood. This brought me out onto Singledge Lane, and I looped back home from there; about six damp kilometres in total.
Raff has car trouble, a punctured tyre, so we helped him get it inflated for long enough to drive to A1 Tyres, luckily only a mile away. Dash spent the afternoon studying for two papers tomorrow: Maths and Geography, a tougher day but I’m sure he will take it in his stride. I had a pleasant ‘old git’ afternoon, with a nap and then a stroll to the village for a bit of blokey pampering at Shan’s Barbershop. Just a quiet evening after that: spicy soup, a bit of telly and an early night.
