Blank Canvas

Monday. Another fine, sunny day, with a cool breeze that prevented it from ever feeling too warm. I’m on holiday for the next two weeks (bliss) and apart from Milo, the rest of the household are work-free as well. It’s felt like a productive day: a couple of very friendly flooring geezers came and installed the laminate in my new study; I fixed an old broken desk that will fit nicely in one corner; sundry hard-drive paraphernalia began to appear from Amazon; and I successfully shopped for office drawers, power strips (with surge protectors) and cable tidies. Somebody stop me! Raff went to Canterbury at lunchtime to meet friends and go to a movie. Gubs and Dash chilled, then hit the gym later; Dash also went out for a bike ride along the lanes for a bit of cardio.

Moving the piles of books, boxes and tins from old man cave to new — not a task for the faint-hearted — began in the afternoon, and continued well into the night. Far too much temptation to tinker, fiddle, reorganise and generally procrastinate for this to have gone any other way. I made ramen for supper, and sneaked in a bit of Guild Wars 2 before bed.
