Crash Course
Tuesday. Another beautifully sunny day, and not too hot either. The house was very still, with both Dash and Raff staying out last night at their respective gatherings. Vanessa went to collect Dash from Canterbury at eight, just before I left for work. I had some overtime: a long supervising shift which was mercifully quiet. A few of us, in thrall to our coffee cravings, drove to an alternative Starbucks at lunchtime. I escaped the office just after five. By late afternoon, it was getting hotter and more humid — apparently, storms are expected overnight. I’d planned a productive evening building a bookshelf, rounded off with a couple of hours in GW2. It is the game’s 14th anniversary today after all. I achieved neither of those things, and fell asleep on the sofa at 8 p.m. while watching some TV with Dash. FML.
Today’s image is bookshelf-adjacent. Anticipating more room for books, I rescued a few from a dusty corner in my office at work. These are part of a series I worked on decades ago, in a different career. I thought it might be nice to have a few around as keepsakes, lest I eventually turn into J. R. Hartley.
