Gubs in Perry Wood
Saturday. We have a full house, with all the boys at home for the weekend, not to mention our recently acquired daughter-in-law! Gabriel has been catching us up with all his university tales over breakfast. It’s a bit grey and overcast outside, but the rain’s supposed to hold off until the afternoon. The clan decided to head out for a walk in Perry Wood, near Selling—about half an hour’s drive away. It’s a beautiful patch of woodland that has a lot of history for our family; we’ve been taking the boys there for country walks since they were tiny. In fact, I dug up a bunch of old pictures that caused much hilarity. Today’s photo is a bit of a family effort. Dash took the image on Gabriel’s phone—complete with the rather jaunty angle—and I did the editing.
After lunch, there was another exodus, to Canterbury this time, for some festive shopping—Raff and I opted out of this one! We are ancient and wise. Later still, I made fajitas for supper, as well as a big batch of mulled cider (a first for Kenadee) with sliced apple, oranges, cloves and star anise. Gubs is going out for his friend Tilly’s 18th birthday party tonight, and at the last minute, Monty, Ken and Milo decided to tag along as well. I dropped them all at ‘Spoons in Canterbury, and I suspect there will be a very late Dad’s Taxi run in my near future.
