Winter Workouts

A thoroughly wet and gloomy start to Sunday morning; non-stop heavy rain and dark grey skies. As predicted, my day began early with a 2 am drive to Canterbury to retrieve my happy but ever-so-slightly merry offspring. A jolly good time had been had by all, although Monty and Milo were loudly debating which of them would win in a (hypothetical) street fight—and clearly this debate had been running for some time.

Once again, the weather changed, so we had rather chilly sun and blue skies by the afternoon. The gang watched movies and wildlife documentaries in the lounge and generally mellowed out. Dash and Monty taught Ken how to play Fortnite on the PS4. I cooked a roast chicken dinner for our household of eight… two whole chickens plus several extra drumsticks and breasts to ensure there would be enough to go round. Gabriel’s train back to Manchester leaves around 6 pm. We’re very sad to see him go, but he’ll be back in mid-December with six weeks off for Christmas.
