Hampton Pier Rocks
Saturday at last, and a relaxing morning for me. It rained heavily to start the day, but the sun had returned by lunchtime. Gubs and one of his friends needed a lift to a surprise birthday party in Greenhill, near Herne Bay – and luckily, the traffic disasters of the last few days seem to be behind us for now. After depositing two happy teenagers, I drove to the Herne Bay seafront... the light was lovely by this point. I took this shot from the end of Hampton Pier, using the Slow Shutter app to create a little motion blur in the water. It was so windy that I was worried the tripod would vibrate too much, but the images came out ok. My tripod got blown over a few times (luckily without the phone or camera attached), and although it picked up a few minor dings, I have had it since 2005, and it has taken worse beatings than that in its lifetime.
