Here Comes the Sun

Wednesday. It was a humid, sticky night, and I found that the best option was to sleep on the patio sofa under the stars. Yesterday’s breeze was notably absent this morning — it looks like it will be a very hot day indeed. I woke around five and found a portentous notification when I checked my phone: Guild Wars Reforged has launched on mobile! Logging into my 16-year-old account took less than thirty seconds, and then I was happily running around Lion’s Arch, figuring out the new controls. Luckily, after all that, my work day was relatively brief. Staff training in the afternoon, so I was able to escape the stuffy office much earlier than normal — a real bonus on such a hot day. Temperatures reached 31°C at lunchtime in Canterbury, Scorchio! indeed.

I spent the latter part of the afternoon at home, playing it cool: a bit of maintenance was required to the large industrial fan I keep in my study — well worth it, because now it’s moving air like it did when it was new. Vanessa’s off out to a concert with Tara this evening, in Folkestone, and the boys were all busy with their own things. I made chicken sausages, onions and potatoes in the air fryer, and settled in for a quiet night.
