In a Different Light

Sunday. Clear skies again, and a crisp, cool morning. The anticipated two o’clock pickup did not happen — Gubs texted to say he’d be getting an Uber as the conversations were good and he wanted to stay out later. He made it home around four, having sadly discovered the truth behind the adage ‘nothing good ever happens after 2 a.m.’

Heavy clouds drew in by mid-morning, but it stayed dry. Raff went to Mass in Canterbury, and spent most of the afternoon in town with his uni mates. Vanessa had an afternoon barbecue in Chartham with old friends from her nursing days, and on the way, dropped Gabriel off at Haynes House in Hythe, where he had another catering shift. Dash wanted to go back to Preston Summerfest, so I drove him there at four. On the way back, I stopped along Nash Road at the exact spot I took last night’s moonlit photo. I thought it might be interesting to shoot the same scene again, just hours later, but in a very different light. It had absolutely nothing to do with running out of inspiration. No Sir, not at all.

I made spicy ramen for supper, then began another set of taxi runs: Gabriel’s pickup from Hythe with an urgent post-shift Maccie D’s stop, then back to Preston to collect Dash. I got home about nine-thirty, just in time to meet my guildies in-game for a little more storyline in Guild Wars 2.
