Summer’s End

Bank Holiday Monday, and the last day of Summer. Warm and sunny, with blue skies and scattered clouds — not a bad send-off for the old season. V had a busy day; sadly her Auntie Josie passed away yesterday, in Ireland, and the funeral proceedings begin tomorrow. She’ll fly over early tomorrow morning with Tara and Gail, then hire a car for the drive up to Cavan. Today — there is shopping to be done at Bluewater; Gubs and Tara tagged along for the ride. I managed to avoid driving anywhere at all, which, after the last few days of taxi duties, was a genuine luxury. Dash, Raff and I just had a peaceful day of pottering, and in the evening Raff made an exceptionally good chilli for supper.
