Thursday. Bright and sunny again. Woke at 4 a.m. with a nasty migraine, which has scuppered my plans somewhat: I’m supposed to be visiting my sister and parents in North Devon today, a six-hour drive that I’d intended to begin before dawn. No such luck — I spent most of the morning trying to sleep it off. We’re seeing Scorchio! temperatures again today, hitting 32°C in the afternoon, with an equally toasty day forecast for tomorrow. Milo worked, while Raff, Gubs and Dash occupied themselves with a variety of activities and venues: whittling, drawing, cooking, reading, gaming, church and gym, in no particular order.
Gabriel’s hand has recovered, and he’s managing to carve while keeping all fingers attached now, so that’s real progress. Dash hooked up an old Wacom tablet I had lying around, and has been teaching himself to draw. I walked past his room this morning and glanced at his screen — he’s making some startlingly good line art; I was impressed. Vanessa and the rest of the Fab Four are enjoying their time in Venice — V told me they were out till 1 a.m. this morning.
