Kingsmead Pinks

Monday. I woke early—it was a sticky, humid night, and raining heavily through the wee hours. Vanessa’s school was meant to be having a beach day in Broadstairs today, but that was cancelled because of the weather. A long supervising shift for me, entertaining as usual, and meetings for much of the afternoon. The heavens opened around 3pm, with thunderstorms, hailstones, and torrential rain that lasted for hours. My journey home became entertaining—several roads were closed due to flooding in the sudden downpour. Back at home, my lack of sleep caught up with me and I hit the sack for an early night, shortly after supper. In Raff’s bistro this evening: Sausage Meatball & Tomato Sauce with Fresh Orecchiette.
