Hitting the Fan
Monday. Back to work this morning after a week of leave, an event that always carries with it a black mood which, today, was entirely unmatched by the weather. A perfect summer day: pleasantly warm with clear blue skies, and a hint of a breeze. Gabriel arrived safely in Davos overnight and will spend three days there before the coach moves on. Vanessa has a challenging day ahead: her school’s annual beach trip to Stone Bay in Broadstairs — a marathon of herding five-year-olds and applying sunscreen.
I had a long shift at work, stretching into the evening, but it’s good to get the first-day-back out of the way. Then, just a quiet evening at home, and a spot of gaming with friends.
