Utterly Screwed

Saturday. Another clear, crisp morning; it will be a shock when the long chain of summer weather finally comes to a close. For a moment, at least, then we’ll remember where we live. Milo has to work this morning, and V’s working in Folkestone today, but has tomorrow off. Raff went out to church in Canterbury mid-morning. Gubs & Kadience headed to the seaside in Margate, which was incredibly busy, they told us later. On the way back they stopped in Deal (somewhat quieter) to have a look at the pier. The evening was fun: everybody was home; Vanessa made fajitas; we played Articulate and argued over the Spotify playlist. Good times.

Man Cave Saga: I have desk woes — an accidental slip, while dismantling it, tore a large chunk out of the fibreboard around a screw hole. Expletives may have occurred at the time. I tried patching it up with wood glue, but it’s right on a load-bearing joint, and the screw no longer has traction. New desk on the way — but it won’t be here till late next week. Adding insult to injury, I was recounting this tale to a friend, and realised I’m now of an age where I had to clarify that it was the desk, not me, that had the accidental fall.
