Whitfield Bypass
Sunday. I got up early at 04:30, and I couldn't fall back asleep. Once I’d had coffee, I decided I might as well roll with it and get outdoors to take some pictures. There’s a spot just outside Whitfield, on Archers Court Road, with an overpass crossing the A256 Whitfield Bypass. I’ve had the vague idea of shooting light trails here for ages, so this morning I set up my tripod and used the Slow Shutter app to capture several long exposure images. I combined these as layers in Photoshop to get the best composite of all the trails.
It was cloudy, cool and dry when I left the house, but the rain set in while I was still out shooting and quickly turned into a heavy downpour that persisted all day. My car has suddenly developed a flat tyre, so it’ll be going to the repair shop this evening, ready to be fixed tomorrow. All the more reason not to venture out again—most of us had the same idea, so we snuggled in for a movie marathon and a bit of gaming.
