Birthday Party

Canterbury, April 2017

It was Dash’s birthday a few days ago, and this Sunday, we are having a garden party to celebrate. We were blessed with a sunny spring day, perfect for outdoor festivities. I think we had about twenty nearly-tweens arrive for the party - they just kept arriving, and I lost track! The usual barbecue production line of burgers and sausages kept everyone well-fed and happy, followed by more cake, of course. We had a giant bouncy castle with a slide for the kids to vomit jump around on afterwards. I took a lot of family snaps, of course, but there were one or two images that had the potential to be more. I love this one in particular - it has a sense of street photography about it, although it’s hard to pin down precisely what makes the shot work.
