Holding Daisy
Cavan, Ireland, August 2014
Later in the day, we visited Vanessa’s Auntie Joan in Cavan town, and as we arrived, I caught this picture of Dash holding onto Daisy, our long-suffering chihuahua! Daisy is such a well-behaved dog, and bringing her on holiday to Ireland is never a problem.
Rural County Cavan is a great place to visit in Ireland. We visit regularly because we have a lot of family there, but it is also an excellent place for outdoorsy family holidays. There are hundreds of small, interconnected lakes that are perfect for boating and fishing, and there are plenty of country walks among the fields and woodland of the region. On top of that, there are plenty of lovely pubs and restaurants. You can reach Cavan on the N3 motorway from Dublin - about a 2-hour drive, or south on the route from Belfast via Enniskillen.
