Son & Shadows

Canterbury, May 2016

We had a fun but busy day today - Dash's 6th birthday party, featuring 22 six-year-olds in our back garden (yikes!) and a bouncy castle. Luckily the weather was perfect, sunny and warm all day. As is only right and proper for a summer party, we fired up the barbecue and created a small production line turning out burgers and sausages, followed by cake. I took this picture of Milo on the bouncy castle before it all kicked off - the hard sunlight on the geometrical shapes of the castle made for some wonderfully deep dark shadows, and a striking look to this portrait.
