Sturry Fields Walk
Sturry, May 2018
The Pylons are coming! We’re out for our usual Sunday afternoon walk with the dogs in Sturry Fields. There is a new set of electricity pylons being constructed to connect the large power substation in Canterbury with the network leading further out into East Kent. Most of this has been pretty much out of the way and has not really troubled us at all - in our patch, they have done quite a good job of avoiding any residential areas, but I’m not sure if that’s always been the case elsewhere. As part of the work in our nearby fields, this temporary road of flat black panels has been laid down for the trucks to access the site. The slightly reflective and nobbled surface of the panels made for interesting tones in black & white, and I took this shot of our fourteen-year-old Monty resting for a moment on the path.
