Gabriel’s Forge
Tuesday. Another really lovely summer day. I don’t have to work, and apart from poor Milo, the rest of us are off work and school as well. A nice lazy morning, with good coffee and a few projects. We finished painting the new study upstairs — Vanessa is far better at this than I am — so now I’m just waiting for the chap to put the new flooring in next week. I have an old desk to fix, a couple of reinforcing brackets to install for the bookshelves, and then I should be good to go. Apart from that, there was nothing to do but relax — I even managed an outdoor nap in the sunshine.
Gabriel has taken up wood carving as a hobby this summer, starting off with a few cute whittlings for Kadience. Now he’s working on a huge Norse-carved greatsword: I took a few photos while he was engrossed in his craft.
