New Friend
Thursday. Even hotter today, reaching 34°C in Canterbury. The office environment became a survival gradient, with people either gathering in the air-conditioned rooms or avoiding them because they were too cold. A long, busy day, and almost everyone was on edge because of the heat. Grabbed coffee and cold caffeine at lunch with the usual suspects, and finally escaped by early evening when it was still nearly thirty degrees. Fish, chips and mushy peas for supper — far too hot and jaded to cook.
