Prosperity
Friday. Honest Friday. A cold, overcast and gloomy day that, at least, had the decency to show its intentions from the outset. A welcome change from the preceding week: fake days; a procession of politicians with their flashy manifestos of summer, only to bring rainy disappointment hours later. Dash has a GCSE Chemistry paper this morning, and I have a morning shift at work — they’ve had several people off sick and offered me a bit of overtime. I grabbed a quick Starbucks afterwards with friends, and got a few errands out of the way in the afternoon. This evening the house was quiet: Vanessa’s gone to Sutton with Tara to visit Ed for the weekend. It’s his birthday tomorrow, and although he’s doing amazingly well after his back surgery last week — he’s not quite up to travelling to Kent yet.
