Whitstable Twilight
Wednesday. Cool, and rather cloudy for most of the day. There was a crash on the A2 this morning, so traffic was at a standstill near Whitfield roundabout. My attempt to get past it on the country lanes failed — they were blocked as well — and I had to turn back. Luckily, police got the traffic moving quickly. I got to work about half an hour late, but it could have been much worse. Just a short shift today, I was away by mid-afternoon, but I had to pop back in the evening for a late meeting. The evening sky was spectacular, so after the meeting I drove to Whitstable seafront to take my daily photo, and grabbed supper from a nearby kebab shop in the process.
Raff took our 15-year-old Chihuahua, Daisy, to the vet this morning for some dental work; she needed a few teeth removed. She seemed to soldier through the whole process without complaint, and later seemed brighter than usual and was devouring her food hungrily — those teeth must have been bothering her.
Milo got back from Wales around six. His holiday had been eventful, but not entirely enjoyable. One friend had been unwell for the whole six days, another had managed to drown his phone in the hot tub. Milo hobbled in with an injured foot and a painful spleen from a sparring match with his friends, and worse than that, he’d scratched his new car on the narrow Welsh lanes. He is not keen to go back to Wales. “We could have gone to Barcelona!”, he muttered, darkly.
